About Nineteen Lab

Nineteen Lab is an independent buying-guide site focused on portable power: power stations, solar generators, and home backup batteries. We started it because shopping for backup power is confusing by design — watt-hour games, inflated marketing claims, and "review" sites that rank whoever pays the most.

How we research

For each guide we shortlist the units real owners actually buy, then compare them on verified manufacturer specifications, certified battery chemistry, warranty terms, and thousands of owner reports from retail platforms and owner communities. When we haven't run a unit through our own hands-on testing, we say so plainly in the guide. As the site grows we buy and bench-test the most important models ourselves.

How we make money

We earn affiliate commissions when readers buy through our links, at no extra cost to them. Brands cannot pay for placement, do not see our conclusions before publication, and get no veto over what we write. If that ever changes, we'll say so on the page itself. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Specs change and we make mistakes. If you spot something wrong, tell us via the contact page and we'll fix it.
